PASTOR JOHN COLLINS, THOUGHT OF THE DAY: COVID19- AND THOUGHTS

Image
From Pastor John Collins: Content from radio broadcast May 24, 2020, posted with permission: Pastor John Collins ~ “I think we’ve been saying over the past eight years that one day, God is going to get tired of getting slapped across the face by people.  We are going to have a wake-up call for something to happen, because He wants us to turn back to God.  We need to get rid of politics and get back to the Cross, first and foremost, but that is the problem. “God didn’t do this.  People going out into the public when they weren’t supposed to, not wearing masks when they were supposed to, not social distancing when they were supposed to, that was the problem.  This could have been not as deadly as it was, in my opinion, if we would have done these things.”  “You shall not tempt the LORD your God as you tempted Him in Massah” (Deuteronomy 6:16, NKJV). “Jesus said to him, “ it is written again, ‘You shall not tempt the LORD your God ’” (Matthew 4:7, NKJV). “An...

PASTOR JOHN COLLINS, EVANGELIST, THOUGHT OF THE DAY: BLIND CHRISTIANS

From John Collins Ministries:  “Make the heart of this people dull, And their ears heavy, And shut their eyes; Lest they see with their eyes, And hear with their heart, And return and be healed.” Isaiah 6:10 (NKJV). “There is none righteous, no, not one; There is none who understands; There is none who seek after God. They have all turned aside; They have together become unprofitable; There is none who does good, no, not one.” Romans 3:10-12 (NKJV). When we think of those who have been blinded and made deaf, those who have been given over to their lusts, we think of the obvious sinners, the ones living life in defiance to the commandments of God and Jesus Christ. Yet, the most pitiful and dreadful blinding that exists is the blind Christian. Blind Christians believe they have it right. These believers gossip, hate, are self-righteous, are greedy, selfish, proud and just don’t even realize it. They believe because they know scripture, may even be able to quote it, they ...

PASTOR JOHN COLLINS THOUGHT OF THE DAY: O.M.G.?!!

From John Collins Ministries: “You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain.” Exodus 20:7 (NKJV). “This is the ‘stone which was rejected by you builders, which has become the chief cornerstone.’  Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” Acts 4:11-12 (NKJV). We are told to revere God, fear God and hold Him in awe. We are not to take His name in vain and we are n ot to take the name of the Lord Jesus Christ in vain.   Someone gets hurt and yells out Jesus Christ in a tone and manner that is equal to curse words. The term OMG has become second nature and of no consequence in the casual speech of people today.  Vain use of the name of God and Jesus is to make them useless, of no effect, idle and worthless. To speak with such casual disregard for the name of God is show them contempt.   The Lor...

JOHN COLLINS, EVANGELIST, THOUGHT OF THE DAY: HALLOWEEN

From John Collins Ministries: “You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons; you cannot partake of the Lord’s table and of the table of demons.” 1 Corinthians 10:21 (NKJV). “Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness? And what accord has Christ with Belial? Or what part has a believer with an unbeliever? And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living God. As God has said, ‘I will dwell in them and walk among them, I will be their God, and they shall be My people.’ Therefore ‘Come out from among them and be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, and I will receive you. I will be a Father to you and you shall be My sons and daughters, Says the Lord Almighty.’” 2 Corinthians 6:14-18 (NKJV). Halloween is paganism. God has spent a lot of time and effort and has sent many a prophet, messenger a...

PASTOR JOHN COLLINS, THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: BITTERNESS

Image
From John Collins Ministries: “Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord: looking carefully lest anyone fall short of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up cause trouble, and by this many become defiled.” Hebrews 12:14-15 (NKJV). Bitterness  is something that we must be on guard against and we must have complete honesty with ourselves if we are to monitor our hearts so that we can repent if we find ourselves gone astray.  Bitterness  will creep up on you and it is easy to allow to happen. We like to think of ourselves as deserving the best and we become very offended when others hurt us, reject us and when we perceive that we have not received our ‘due’. We must be careful to find the  balance  of self-worth and humility. Sometimes people just don’t think things through with  faith . Do you deserve health, happiness, wealth, love, respect, honor, recognition or to walk thr...

PASTOR JOHN COLLINS, EVANGELIST, THOUGHT OF THE DAY: BATTLE WITHIN

Image
From John Collins Ministries: The Inner Battle Pastor John Collins writes:   “The heaven, even the heavens, are the Lords’; But the earth He has given to the children of men.” Psalm 115:16 (NKJV). God  has given you life and you need to enjoy it. As you walk the path that leads to righteousness, you will face many situations that make you realize that it is a battle not just outside in the world and with those you encounter but also within yourself.  God  wants you to fight the good fight. God wants you to seek to please Him and to do the right thing in life. Be charitable, be good, be kind, be forgiving, be loving and compassionate toward others. As you go about doing these things you will have to battle your own demons. We all have them. We all think of the easy path, the shortcut and the darker temptations in life and it is that battle that you must encounter each day. So, what are you fighting for? Is it just to get to heaven? That narrow f...
